Exclusive: Polish Presidency to seek to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia

Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2025 will seek to normalize relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and stabilize the situation in the South Caucasus region, Poland's Foreign Ministry told Report.

"Under Polish Presidency, the EU will continue to support a peaceful resolution to the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We support all actions aimed at achieving lasting peace. The EU's role in the peace process is very important and should continue. We would like to emphasize the opportunities it creates for cooperation of the South Caucasus region with the EU and with our country," the ministry said.

It added that the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia will allow the development of the region and the resolution of pressing humanitarian problems, missing persons, demining issues or the protection of historical and cultural property.

The ministry said that Poland supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Armenia and believes that all remaining issues can be resolved through diplomatic means.
