EU official briefed on extensive mine contamination of Azerbaijani territories

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has briefed Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, about the widespread contamination of the country's territory with landmines, Report informs.
According to Bayramov, the most serious issue hindering restoration and reconstruction work in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories is the landmine problem:
"We will continue to face these problems in the coming years. 70 people have lost their lives as victims of mines planted by the Armenian side," Bayramov said.
