Signing of a document on strategic partnership will be great basic for further strengthening Azerbaijan-Montenegro relations in the fields of economy, politics and culture, President of the Montenegrin Parliament Aleksa Becic said in an interview with Report.
He also highlighted that he welcomes the initiative by Azerbaijani colleagues on signing the document of strategic partnership.
He also noted that the countries have excellent relations at a very high level: “We are here to strengthen our political relations at the highest governmental level, but we hope that this will be followed by strengthening of relations among our colleagues parliamentarians, committees, friendship groups etc.,” said the speaker noting that his visit to Azerbaijan is a proof of how much they appreciate the friendship with Azerbaijan and how positively they see this country and people.
He added that the countries have a lot of possibilities to improve cooperation in many fields, which he has discussed with officials during his visit to Azerbaijan.
“Of course, such fields as energy, infrastructure, tourism etc. are so favorable for further strengthening and developing our relations,” he noted.
“It is very important to organize the third meeting of the mixed economic commission of Azerbaijani and Montenegrin governments in Podgorica,” he added, noting that this is necessary to strengthen the trade exchange between the countries.
Becic pointed out that all the necessary preconditions were created for strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Azerbaijan and Montenegro. In particular, both countries have formed the friendship groups with the parliaments. In addition, President of Azerbaijani National Assembly Sahiba Gafarova and him agreed to intensify contacts. Thus, she invited the parliamentary friendship group of Montenegro to visit Baku, while he invited her to visit Podgorica, hopping that her visit will be followed by the visit of friendship group to Podgorica.
