The long-term and productive cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom in the energy sector plays an important role role in ensuring global energy security, as stated by Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov during the official birthday celebration of King Charles III of the United Kingdom in Baku.
According to Report, Minister Shahbazov reminded that this collaboration between Baku and London dates back to 1994 to the signing of the Contract of the Century.
The joint efforts of Azerbaijan and the UK in transitioning to green energy allow for the diversification of further cooperation in the non-oil sector and other areas of trade and economic collaboration, the minister said emphasizing the growth in trade turnover between the two countries, which saw a 16 percent increase in the first quarter.
Shahbazov also highlighted that the United Kingdom, having invested $35.9 billion in Azerbaijan, stands as the largest investor in the country.
