Issues that concern people should be included when developing a strategy related to climate change, Daniel Besley, a representative of the World Bank, stated at an international conference on carbon pricing, organized by the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan in Baku, Report informs.
"Most importantly, we need to ask people what is valuable to you, what are the issues and points that concern you? Communication with the population is very important. A strategy should be supportive, and for this, proper communication should be conducted. In general, climate change is a very risky thing, a concept that requires large expenses in the future. For this reason, we need to balance it with carbon pricing. Spending little on this issue now can lead to big expenses in the future," he noted.
