Azerbaijan sees 6% growth in mandatory insurance sector

In January-June 2025, 194.683 million manats ($114.52 million) of insurance premiums were collected in Azerbaijan through compulsory insurance types.

Report informs with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan that this is 5.7% more compared to the same period of 2024.

In the first half of 2025, the amount of payments for compulsory insurance types amounted to 68.325 million manats ($40.2 million), which is 10.9% more year-on-year.

Thus, in 6 months, payments of 35.1 manats ($20.65) were made for every 100 manats ($58.82) of insurance premiums collected from the compulsory insurance market. This figure was 33.5 manats ($19.71) a year ago.

In the first half of 2025, 817.048 million manats ($480.616 million) of insurance premiums were collected through 16 insurance companies in Azerbaijan. This is 12.7% more compared to the same period last year.

The amount of payments made by insurance companies amounted to 432.198 million manats ($254.234 million). This is 21.4% more compared to the previous year.

In the past 6 months, 52.9 manats ($31.12) out of every 100 manats of insurance premiums collected in the insurance market were paid out. This indicator was 49.1 manats ($28.88) in the same period last year.
