Azer Mursagulov: Ministry of Finance intends to return to government bond market in near future

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Finance plans to return to the domestic government bond market in the near future, Director of the Agency for Management of Public Debt and Financial Obligations under Azerbaijan's Finance Ministry Azer Mursagulov said, Report informs.

"I am sure that many participants have a question: why has the Ministry of Finance not placed bonds yet this year? As already noted, holding deposit auctions is associated with the availability of temporarily free funds in the state budget. In such conditions, attracting additional funds from the market would be inappropriate. However, this is a temporary measure. In the near future, we plan to return to the market and resume the issue of exactly those government securities that you are counting on," Mursagulov noted.
