A second Binding phase of the 2021 Market Test will be launched on October 20 by TAP and its adjacent TSOs, TAP AG said in response to Report’s inquiry.
The results of the second binding bidding phase of the 2021 Market Test are expected to be published at the beginning of 2024.
To further support Europe’s energy security, TAP’s initial capacity of 10 bcm per year (bcm/a) can be expanded in steps to reach 20 bcm/a.
“TAP’s capacity expansion is a matter of supply and demand. TAP’s expansion capacity is offered to the market through regular market tests in an open, transparent, and non-discriminatory way. Market tests are initiated at least every odd year following the start of operations. The market tests are structured in two phases: the Non-Binding phase and the Binding Phase.
“The first Binding phase of the 2021 Market Test closed on January 22, 2023, resulting in TAP being able to trigger the first level of capacity expansion.
A second Binding phase of the 2021 Market Test will be launched on October 20 by TAP and its adjacent TSOs. As per the Project Proposal for the second Binding Phase of the 2021 Market Test approved by the Italian, Greek and Albanian National Regulatory Authorities and published on TAP’s website, the results of the second binding bidding phase of the 2021 Market Test are expected to be published at the beginning of 2024,” TAP AG said.
