South Caucasus Pipeline expenses in 1Q25 increased 5 times

In January-March 2025, the operating expenses of the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) amounted to approximately $18 million, $0.7 million or 4.05% more year-on-year, Report informs, citing BP-Azerbaijan.

The pipeline's capital expenditures amounted to $6 million, which is $4.8 million or 5 times more year-on-year.

During the quarter, the average daily throughput capacity of the SCP for export was 60.8 million cubic meters, which is 0.9 million cubic meters or 1.4% less compared to the same period of 2024.

The SCP was commissioned at the end of 2006 and supplies Shah Deniz gas to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye. Commercial gas volumes through the expanded SCP began to be delivered to Türkiye in June 2018, and to Europe in December 2020.

The shareholders of the SCP company are BP (29.99%), LUKOIL (19.99%), Southern Gas Corridor (21.02%), TPAO (19%), and NIKO (10%).
