Solar energy generation in Azerbaijan rises by over 13%

Between January and July of 2025, solar power plants in Azerbaijan generated 334.2 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, Report informs, referring to the country’s State Statistical Committee.
According to the data, this figure represents a 13.1% increase compared to the same seven-month period in 2024.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan generated more than 15.639 billion kWh of electricity—2.6% more than in the same period last year. Of this, just under 15.110 billion kWh was marketable electricity, also up 2.6% year-on-year.
Hydropower plants accounted for nearly 2.080 billion kWh, marking a 12.5% increase compared to the previous year.
Thermal power plants produced approximately 12.669 billion kWh, which is 0.9% higher than the figure recorded in the first seven months of 2024.
Meanwhile, wind power generation totaled 27.5 million kWh, reflecting an 18.6% decrease compared to the same period last year.
