SOCAR and Serbia Gas agree to expand natural gas supplies

The state oil companies of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Serbia (Serbia Gas) have agreed to expand and extend their cooperation in the field of natural gas supplies, building on the friendly relations between the two governments, Vitaly Baylarbayov, Deputy Vice President of SOCAR, said at the 8th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Serbia Joint Intergovernmental Commission On Trade and Economic Cooperation in Baku.

According to Report, Baylarbayov said yesterday's negotiations between SOCAR and Serbia Gas were extremely fruitful and successful.

He noted that the companies agreed to expand and extend their cooperation in supplying natural gas to Serbia, as well as broaden collaboration in other areas, including gas transit through the country's territory.

Baylarbayov expressed confidence that the partnership with Serbian counterparts in this direction will be long-term. He recalled that starting from 2024, Azerbaijani gas is being supplied to Serbia under an agreement signed in November 2023. According to the agreement, annual gas supplies may reach up to 400 million cubic meters per year until 2026, via the interconnector with Bulgaria launched last year.
