By the end of the year, Azerbaijan will be able to supply gas to Hungary and Serbia, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the official opening ceremony of the 28th International Caspian Oil&Gas Exhibition (Caspian Oil & Gas) within the Baku Energy Week, Report informs.
He noted that he was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Greece-Bulgaria gas pipeline, as a result of which Azerbaijan began to supply gas to Bulgaria.
“Through Bulgaria now we are evaluating the opportunities, I’m sure we will start supply to the neighboring countries soon. Actually, Romania is already part of our cooperation format and if everything goes according to the schedule and all the planned interconnectors are built on time, by the end of the year our gas can reach Hungary and Serbia. Therefore, that will expand our geography of gas supplies,” he said.
