Exploration plan for offshore Babak deposit to be prepared

Engineering-geological and geotechnical research work has been carried out in the shallow-water part of the deposit (62 meters) for exploration of offshore Babak structure in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, Report says, referring to SOCAR’s annual report for 2020.
Under the report, it is planned to start drilling a BX-01 exploration well in 2021, using a floating drilling rig. "Depending on the results of BX-01 well, a development plan for the shallow-water part of the Babak structure and an exploration plan for the deep-water part will be prepared."
According to the report, the well is planned to be drilled in the 7th horizon of the productive layer to produce 2.5 million cubic meters of gas and 460 cubic meters of liquid per day: "Design work for the construction of a new terminal in the Dashgil area and the construction of 500-mm 55-60 atmospheric pressure transmission line from the Umid-2 platform is being carried out by the "Oil and Gas Research Project" institute and is nearing completion."
It is reported that by the end of 2020, grounding work had been completed in the terminal area.
