The Southern Gas Corridor helped unlock Azerbaijan's energy abundance for the betterment of not just Azerbaijan, but for the whole region with Azerbaijan becoming a reliable supplier to a dozen countries, Senior Advisor of the US Department of State's Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR) Erik Jacobs said at the Eleventh Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council Ministerial, according to Report.
"We are proud today to help celebrate the Southern Gas Corridor as a testament to ingenuity and ambition. It helped unlock Azerbaijan’s energy abundance for the betterment of not just Azerbaijan, but for the whole region with Azerbaijan becoming a reliable supplier to a dozen countries," he said.
He noted that like the United States, Azerbaijan is blessed with tremendous energy abundance.
"President Trump has called energy the cornerstone of the American advantage and the key to American security.
Leveraging your energy abundance to bring economic opportunity, better health, and education; and to improve the lives of your citizens; is the duty of any good government," Jacobs noted.
He added that natural gas is no longer relegated to the background as a bridge fuel to an uncertain and unknown energy future.
"It is a reliable, affordable, secure energy source for us all, and will remain so for decades to come. It is the fuel of choice and essential to meeting rising global energy demand," Jacobs said.
According to him, it is obvious that Azerbaijan never forgot that natural gas is a fuel of choice for this country's future, as well as the future of Europe and the globe.
In conclusion he noted that President Trump has made US energy abundance the foundation of American prosperity and the United States looks forward to working together with its allies and partners to help unleash energy abundance to ensure every nation’s right to build and prosper using its own resources.
"I look forward to partnering with you to identify and accelerate opportunities to advance energy security and economic growth for the United States, US business, and you and your energy industries," he said.
