Energy Ministry: Azerbaijan to apply discounts on eco-friendly cars

Azerbaijan is envisaging a number of discounts for eco-friendly cars, Rauf Gurbanov, head of the economic department of the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry, told a presser on "Operation of eco-friendly cars and a clean environment in Azerbaijan," Report informs.

According to him, a number of proposals have been drafted to promote eco-friendly cars.

"It is planned to create charging stations for eco-friendly cars and connect them to the general network. According to preliminary studies, the capacity of these stations will not exceed 150 kW."

Rauf Gurbanov also noted that these cars are offered to be parked on preferential terms in the parking lots.

"In addition, we plan these types of vehicles to use toll roads in our country completely free of charge in the future. We are also considering the creation of a mobile application that will show where to charge eco-friendly cars."
