Decision on relocation of Baku Oil Refinery may be made in 2025

The potential relocation of the Baku Oil Refinery (BOR) could take place between 2030 and 2031, according to Elshan Hajizada, the Head of the Industry and Energy Department of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to Report, Hajizada made the statement during a public hearing at the Milli Majlis Committee on Natural Resources, Energy, and Ecology.

Hajizada revealed that two scenarios are currently under discussion regarding the future of the Baku Oil Refinery. The first option is to continue the ongoing modernization works at the refinery, while the second involves relocating the facility to a new location. The final decision on this matter is expected to be made within the year 2025.

"If the decision is made to relocate the refinery, the process could be carried out in 2030-2031," stated Hajizada.
