China aims to deepen cooperation with Azerbaijan in green energy, support Azerbaijan's strategic goals for green development, and promote employment and development of local industries, China's Chargé d'Affaires in Azerbaijan, Ding Tao, said during a year-end press conference, according to Report.
He emphasized that in recent years, cooperation and delegation exchanges between China and Azerbaijan have significantly intensified, bringing notable results even at the initial stage.
"In October last year, the 230 MW Garadagh solar power plant, built by a Chinese company, was successfully connected to the power grid. It will annually produce 500 million kWh of electricity, which will provide power to 110,000 consumers and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 200,000 tons per year," said Ding Tao.
According to him, this solar power plant is the largest in Central Asia and the Caucasus: "It has become an exemplary project within the framework of Chinese-Azerbaijani cooperation in green energy. Additionally, a 240 MW wind power plant project is currently being implemented."
