Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Türkiye up by over 6%

In January-August 2024, Azerbaijan exported a total of 7.43 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye, posting a 6.07% increase compared to the first eight months of 2023, Report informs, citing the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), .

In August 2024, Azerbaijan exported 742.24 million cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye, which is 20.84% less compared to August 2023.

Thus, Azerbaijan became the second-largest natural gas exporter to Türkiye in August, accounting for 19.1% of the country’s total natural gas imports.

For comparison, in August 2023, Türkiye imported 937.7 million cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan.

Overall, in August 2024, Türkiye imported a total of 3.89 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which is 5.74% more compared to the same month in 2023.

Russia held the first place in gas exports to Türkiye in August. In the 8th month of the year, 2.27 billion cubic meters of natural gas was exported from Russia to Türkiye, which is 0.19% more compared to August 2023.

Iran ranked third in August, delivering 491.34 million cubic meters of gas to Türkiye during that month. Gas transportation from Iran to Türkiye increased 6.6 times compared to August 2023.
