Azerbaijan drafting strategy for hydrogen production, says deputy minister

Azerbaijan is drafting a strategy for hydrogen production, Elnur Soltanov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, told journalists, Report informs.

He said that the green hydrogen produced in Azerbaijan will be competitive in Europe, according to the document presented by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

"Hydrogen production is at an early stage all over the world. Hydrogen demand is a problem. Preliminary steps are being taken in this regard in Azerbaijan as well. Initial reports indicate that Azerbaijan has serious opportunities in this field. We will start working with new consulting companies based on the EBRD's reference in this direction," said Soltanov.
