Azerbaijan doubles wind power production

Wind power production rose by 2-fold to 37.4 million kWh in January-July 2023, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The output in the sector of electric power, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 1,743.6 million (nearly $1 billion) in January-July 2023, up 1.7% from a year earlier.

The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 16.7%, settling at 318.9 million manats ($187.5 million).

Azerbaijan produced 15,342.9 million kWh of electricity in the reporting period, up 0.3% from the previous year. Of this, 14.819 billion kWh were commercial electricity, 0.2% more than the last year.

The hydropower plants produced 1,089,300,000 kWh of electricity, 5.1% less than a year ago.

The thermal power plants generated 13,653,600,000 kWh of energy, up 0.5% from a year earlier.

Solar power production increased by 6.2% to 39.2 million kWh.
