Azerbaijan boosts revenues from polyethylene exports in July 

Azerbaijan exported $11.1 million worth of polyethylene in primary forms in July 2022, $1.8 million or 19.3% higher than in the same period of 2021, Report informs, citing the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications.

In January-July 2022, $32 million worth of polyethylene in primary forms was exported, up $0.1 million or 0.3% from the previous year.

Polyethylene and polypropylene are produced at the SOCAR Polymer plant in Azerbaijan. The SOCAR Polymer project includes plants for the production of polypropylene with an annual capacity of 184,000 tons and the production of high-density polyethylene with a yearly capacity of 120,000 tons. The opening of the polypropylene plant took place on July 18, 2018, with the participation of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Italy, Ilham Aliyev and Sergio Mattarella.
