ACWA Power eyes more projects in Azerbaijan

Saudi Arabian ACWA Power company has several projects planned for implementation in Azerbaijan, the company's Regional Director for Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Mehmet Selim Guven, said in his statement to journalists, Report informs.

According to Guven, the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant (WPP) is the company's first project in Azerbaijan: “Currently, we are interested in many projects that we can implement in Azerbaijan. These include energy storage projects and offshore projects in the Caspian Sea.”

Guven added that seawater desalination and several solar power plant projects are also in the company's area of interest: “Each of these projects, as well as all projects in the renewable energy sector, are important for us.”

Mehmet Selim Guven also noted that the Caspian Sea has great wind energy potential: “Of course, these projects are not easy. We are monitoring all options and want to participate in such projects. We are discussing these topics with the Azerbaijani government.”
