During the current year, control measures carried out in Azerbaijan’s territories liberated have revealed numerous ecological violations, resulting in the issuance of a total of 106 acts and 64 protocols, said Khalig Mirzayev, Deputy Head of the State Ecological Security Service under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Report informs.
Mirzayev made the remark at a meeting of the Working Group on Ecological Issues.
He further stated that 11 time-bound Ecological Demands have been issued to address the identified deficiencies:
“Legal entities, officials, and individuals found guilty of violating the law have been fined a total of 147,060 manats ($86,505), and claims amounting to over 29,273 manats ($17,219) have been filed in connection with 22 cases of damage to the environment.”
Moreover, materials collected in relation to 16 cases have been sent to law enforcement agencies for appropriate measures to be taken, the official added.
