Working group on demining holds meeting in Khankandi

The Working Group on Demining and Neutralization of Unexploded Ordnance held another meeting in Khankandi.
According to Report's correspondent in Khankandi, during the visit, representatives from ANAMA and relevant state structures within the Working Group became acquainted with humanitarian demining operations underway in the villages of Sarijaly and Alimadatli in Aghdam district.
Later, a broad meeting of the Working Group was held in Khankandi.
Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of ANAMA's Executive Board and Head of the Working Group, stressed that demining operations are a key component of the "Great Return" program.
He highlighted that since the start of 2025, a total of 27,204 hectares of territory had been cleared of mines and other explosive remnants of war — including 8,318 hectares of residential infrastructure, 9,176 hectares of agricultural land, 1,951 hectares for environmental assessment, 708 hectares of transport infrastructure, 628 hectares related to irrigation and water management, and other priority sites.
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on ongoing humanitarian demining operations and related projects, and received reports from organizations involved in clearing mines in the liberated territories, as well as information about the equipment used in these operations.
