Konul Behbudova: World must put pressure on Armenia to clarify fate of missing Azerbaijanis

Chairperson of Azerbaijan's public association "Families of Missing Persons in Karabakh" Konul Behbudova has called for pressure on Armenia to provide Azerbaijan with information about those missing in the First Karabakh War, Report informs.

During a conversation with journalists on a trip to the liberated territories, Behbudova regretfully emphasized that authoritative international organizations prefer to remain silent on this issue.

"For 33 years now, we have had no information about almost 4,000 of our compatriots. We don't know what torments and sufferings they were subjected to. However, today the world community, including the UN, turns a blind eye to all this. Moreover, it helps Armenia, which has committed countless war crimes and stained its hands with the blood of innocent people. Today, we, the families of the missing, are appealing to the world community for support. Put pressure on Armenia to clarify the fate of our missing compatriots. We demand that those who committed these crimes be brought to justice. We demand this from the whole world and want our voice to reach international organizations," she said.

Behbudova also drew attention to the fact that the landmines laid by Armenian forces during the years of occupation in the liberated territories still pose a great danger to the civilian population, adding that the world turns a blind eye to this as well.
