Today, flags across Azerbaijan have been lowered to half-mast to mourn the airplane crash victims.

Report informs that following the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer passenger aircraft near Aktau city in Kazakhstan en route Baku-Grozny on December 25, resulting in multiple casualties, President Ilham Aliyev signed an order declaring a one-day mourning across the country.

Among the 67 people on board, 42 were citizens of Azerbaijan, 16 of Russia, 6 of Kazakhstan, and 3 of Kyrgyzstan.

Under President Ilham Aliyev's instruction, a state commission headed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov has been established to investigate the causes of the plane crash.

An Azerbaijani delegation, including the minister of digital development and transport, minister of emergencies, deputy prosecutor general, and other officials, departed for Aktau to investigate the causes of the plane crash on site.
