Sec.-Gen.: 30th anniversary of TURKSOY to be celebrated in Shusha

“We will celebrate the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY in Azerbaijan, including in the cultural capital of the Turkic world – Shusha,” Secretary-General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultan Raev told the Turkish bureau of Report.

The secretary-general said that the anniversary of TURKSOY will be celebrated in six Turkic states: “We decided to start anniversary events from Kazakhstan, and on May 3 we held a round table dedicated to the results of the 30th anniversary of the organization. In general, a series of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY will be held June 9 in Almaty, June 13 in Bishkek, June 18 in Tashkent and June 28-29 in Ashgabat.”

Sultan Raev stressed that it is planned to hold a series of traditional TURKSOY events, including meetings of artists, photographers, poets, directors of museums and theaters: “We proposed to organize these events within the framework of other traditional events held in Shusha, so that the result would be productive and effective. Photos and paintings from these events will be displayed in Shusha during the meeting of the Permanent Council of TURKSOY, scheduled for October, and in Baku as part of the events dedicated to the organization’s 30th anniversary. Later, these works will be included in the catalog and album.”

The secretary-general added that the goal of publishing the album is to promote the city of Shusha in the world, in the member countries of the organization and international organizations.
