Following the closing ceremony of the Shusha - OIC Youth Capital 2024 international program, participants embarked on a tour of Shusha and Khankandi, Report informs.
Participants first visited the Karabakh University and the city square. The foreign visitors then explored the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque and the Shusha Fortress.
The participants received detailed information about Shusha and Khankandi, two cities that were under occupation for a long period.
The three-day event in Shusha brought together nearly 300 official representatives, youth, and volunteers from OIC member and observer countries.
In October 2023, at the 11th meeting of the Executive Council of the OIC Youth Forum, Shusha was declared the Youth Capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for 2024.
On April 17, 2024, President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree related to the selection of Shusha as the OIC Youth Capital for 2024.
