Two nominations – “Shusha Historical-Architectural Reserve” and “Aghdam Palace Complex and Juma Mosque,” have been included in ICESCO's Tentative List of Heritage in the Islamic World.
Report informs that the issue was discussed at the 12th session of ICESCO's Islamic World Heritage Committee held in Azerbaijan’s Shusha city.
The meeting emphasized that Azerbaijan's experience in restoring cultural heritage is a unique model for revitalizing cultural heritage in post-conflict zones worldwide.
After discussions, committee members decided to include Azerbaijan's two nominations in the Tentative List of Islamic World Heritage paving the way for these nominations to be included in the Islamic World Heritage List in the coming years.
