Azerbaijan's Economy Minister meets with Cisco Systems CEO

During the COP29 conference, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, held a meeting with Mary de Wysocki, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer at Cisco Systems.

Report informs, citing the Ministry, that the discussions focused on opportunities for joint activities in applying modern technologies to support the development of a sustainable economy and improve the innovation ecosystem in Azerbaijan.

The meeting also covered topics such as achieving progress in the business sphere, developing human capital, ensuring sustainable economic growth, and increasing the effectiveness of climate actions by leveraging technological capabilities. Special attention was given to enhancing the efficiency of entrepreneurial activities through the use of artificial intelligence and applying innovative solutions in agriculture and water management.

The sides also considered diversification of Cisco Systems' activities in Azerbaijan and new opportunities for cooperation in this context. Both parties noted the important prospects for ensuring global synergy to achieve sustainable development goals.

To realize the potential for collaboration, the sides exchanged views on updating infrastructure, improving the application of innovations, expanding the scope of the digital economy, stimulating the use of modern technologies, and assessing the possibilities for organizing joint production.improving its position by 4 places compared to the previous year.
