Qatar is committed to the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities regarding climate finance issues, Ahmad Mohammed Al Sada, Assistant Deputy Minister for Climate Change at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, said in an exclusive statement to Report.
According to him, through its participation in COP29, Qatar intends to contribute to the implementation of climate change mitigation measures and strengthen its support in developing innovative solutions for these purposes.
"Qatar emphasizes the responsibility of developed countries in providing financing, developing and transferring technologies, and building capacity for developing countries," said Al Sada.
The Assistant Deputy Minister also emphasized that he sees possible cooperation between Qatar and Azerbaijan in the field of ecology and sustainable development.
Responding to a question about whether Qatar plans to invest in renewable energy projects in Azerbaijan, Al Sada said that after conducting necessary research and studying all aspects of cooperation, it will be possible to make an appropriate decision.
