OSCE PA President: Green energy contributes to stability

Green energy contributes to the stability and OSCE countries, OSCE PA President Margareta Cederfelt told a conference themed “The role of national parliaments in promoting security and stability through the green economy, transport coordination, and sustainable development”, Report informs.

She also said that the green economy is of great importance in the implementation of joint initiatives related to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Simplification of transport and trade serves the well-being of people. Sustainable development ensures environmental policy and the future of generations. Today we will discuss security cooperation, which plays an important role in the agenda of the OSCE. We are representatives elected by our people and we must do things to further improve our ecology through our own experience. Our world is facing many problems such as social inequality, rising food prices, and these require solutions. Russia's war in Ukraine is causing an acute water, food, and energy crisis. The pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war show that important economic relations are not at the proper level. We need to be more resilient to future crises by rethinking our relationship. Peace is also green ecology. We must fight for safer OSCE countries,” the OSCE PA President said.
