Azerbaijan starts importing smartphones from another country

In January-September 2024, Azerbaijan imported 1,036,863 smartphones worth $289.2 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

This is 21% higher in value and 14.4% higher in quantity compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported smartphones from the following countries:

- China: 811,340 units (+28%) worth $214.7 million (+29.2%);

- Vietnam: 161,684 units (-22%) worth $55.8 million (+6%);

- India: 59,496 units (-7%) worth $14.2 million (-28%);

- US: 3,150 units (+8 times) worth $3.6 million (+9 times);

- Japan: 321 units (+9.4 times) worth $339,200 (+14 times).

This year, for the first time in the last 13 years (note: official foreign trade statistics are publicly available until 2011), supplies were made from Jamaica (44 units worth $44,000).
