Azerbaijan starts importing contact lenses from another country

In the nine months of 2024, Azerbaijan imported 110,994 contact lenses worth $311,000, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

This is 6% more in value and 12% less in quantity compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 44,159 units of contact lenses (26.5% more than a year ago) worth $80,000 (+70%) from South Korea, 50,797 units (-40%) worth $66,800 (-66%) from China, 4,293 units (-13%) worth $64,310 (+49%) from Türkiye, 4,469 units (no supply a year ago) worth $39,000 from Japan, and 3,399 units (no supply a year ago) worth $29,000 from Singapore.

This year, for the first time in the last 13 years (note: official foreign trade statistics are publicly available until 2011), supplies were made from Poland (2,709 units worth $19,000).
