Azerbaijan starts exporting cement to one more country

In the first half of 2022, Azerbaijan exported 308,432 tons of cement worth $13.347 million.

According to Report’s calculations based on the data of the State Statistics Committee, this is 22.7% more in quantitative terms, 52.1% more in value compared to the same period last year.

As many as 308,431 tons (+22.7% compared to the previous year) were exported to Georgia for $13.346 million (+52.1%), to the UAE - 1.5 tons for $160, to Germany – 150 kg for $90, to Turkiye – 20 kg for $20 (there were no deliveries a year ago).

After a break of six years and two months, deliveries to Germany were restored. This year, for the first time in the last 11 years, a delivery was made to the UAE (official statistics on foreign trade since 2011 are publicly available).

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 14,804 tons of cement for $2.811 million, which is 52% and 61.2% more than in the same period last year, respectively.

As many as 9,292 tons were imported from Russia (+77.8% compared to last year) for $1.996 million (+79.3%), from Iran - 3,825 tons (+19.5%) for $463,780 (+20.6%), from Turkiye - 1,684 tons (+30.3%) for $343,460 (+41.7%), from the US – 380 kg (+38 times) for $5,230 (+2.1 times), from France – 40 kg (there were no deliveries a year ago) for $670.
