Azerbaijan significantly increases imports of wafers from Germany, Ukraine

In January-August 2023, Azerbaijan imported 3,459 tons (31% more year-on-year) of wafers for $11.35 million (54% more YoY), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 809 tons (+41%) of wafers from Türkiye for $3.92 million (77% more than a year ago), 1,417 tons (-9%) from Russia for $2.9 million (-20%), 309 tons (+82%) from Bulgaria for $1.28 million, 217 tons (+43 times) from Germany for $1.1 million (+24 times ), 297 tons (+3.4 times) from Ukraine for $926,000 (+4 times).

Of the 4,714 tons of wafers imported to Azerbaijan (from 25 countries) in 2022, 52% came from Russia, 23.2% from Türkiye, 7.4% from Bulgaria, 4.6% from Ukraine, and 3.7% from Germany.
