Azerbaijan's sewing machine imports from Vietnam skyrocket

Azerbaijan imported 9,712 sewing machines, valued at $2.98 million in the first three months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, this is 3.2 times more in volume, and 2.7 times more in value.

In January-March 2024, Azerbaijan bought 8,662 sewing machines (+3.3 times) from China worth $2.54 million (+3 times), and 293 units (+7.7%) from Türkiye worth $188,300 (+2 times), 680 units (+680 times) from Vietnam worth $112,000 (+4 times), 13 units (-48 %) from Japan worth $65,300 (-54 %), 2 units (-87%) from the Czech Republic worth $39,000 (-61%).

Meanwhile, in 2023, China accounted for 78% of the 20,605 sewing machines that were imported into Azerbaijan from a total of 15 countries.
