Azerbaijan's elevator imports soar

Azerbaijan imported 801 elevators and skip hoists valued at $8.8 million during the first four months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

According to the obtained data, this is a remarkable increase of 2.5 times in quantity and 65 percent in value compared to the same period of 2023.

In four months, Azerbaijan received 623 elevators (+3 times) from China worth $5.9 million (+63%), 6 units from Japan worth $2 million (no import a year ago), 131 units (+2 times) from Türkiye worth $759,000 (+41%), 2 units (-82%) from Thailand worth $69,400 (-83%), and 2 units from Italy worth $46,000 (no import a year ago).

Meanwhile, China accounted for 73.7% of the 1,342 elevators imported to Azerbaijan from 17 countries in 2023.
