Azerbaijan resumes walnut imports from Georgia

In January-November 2024, Azerbaijan imported 5,594 tons of walnuts (55% more YoY) worth $19.14 million (35% more YoY), Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 3,486 tons (+36%) of walnuts from Ukraine for $10.58 million (+8%), 1,085 tons (+2.7 times) from Kyrgyzstan for $4.85 million (+2.4 times), 550 tons (+74%) from Uzbekistan for $2.19 million (+61%), 122 tons (+97%) from the United States for $470,300 (+2.1 times), and 84 tons (+87%) from China for $447,000 (+3 times).

Azerbaijan resumed imports from Georgia (23 tons worth $90,100) after a 5-year and 4-month break.

In 2023, Ukraine accounted for 73.8% of the 5,000 tons of walnuts imported to Azerbaijan from 12 countries.
