Azerbaijan resumes pepper imports from UAE

In January-October 2024, Azerbaijan imported 708 tons of pepper worth $2.8 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
This is 2% more in value and 2% less in quantity compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported pepper from:
- Vietnam: 254 tons (-23%) worth $1.1 million (-16%);
- Türkiye: 147 tons (+6%) worth $698,000 (+5%);
- Uzbekistan: 115 tons (+2-fold) worth $246,000 (+88%);
- India: 73 tons (+0.8%) worth $170,800 (+4%);
- Iran: 41.2 tons (2.7x increase) worth $170,200 (+2.6-fold).
Azerbaijan resumed the supply of pepper (1 ton worth $2,900) from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after one year and seven months.
