Azerbaijan resumes methanol supply to Greece

In January-November 2024, Azerbaijan exported 441,000 tons of methanol, valued at $94.9 million, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the exports fell by 2 percent in volume, while rising by 17 percent in value.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported methanol to:
- The Netherlands: 103,712 tons (+56%) worth $22.5 million (+42%);
- Türkiye: 98,025 tons (-11%) worth $20.5 million (-17%);
- Italy: 71,545 tons (-14%) worth $15.7 million (-24%);
- Romania: 55,225 tons (+2.3 times) worth $12.34 million (+93%);
- Israel: 45,114 tons (+2.8 times) worth $9.5 million (+2.2 times).
Azerbaijan resumed methanol supply to Greece (4,000 tons worth $904,000 USD) after a 5-year and 5-month break.
In 2023, 501,571 tons of methanol were exported from Azerbaijan to 10 countries, of which 22% went to Türkiye, 17.1% to Romania, and 15.5% to Italy.
