Azerbaijan resumes importing salmons from US

In January-July 2023, Azerbaijan imported 389 tons of salmons (fresh and frozen) worth $2.84 million, respectively, up 46% and 17% from the previous year, Report informs, referring to the State Statistical Committee.

In the reporting period, the country imported 215 tons (+41%) of salmons worth $1.29 million (+37%) from Chile, 98 tons (-11%) worth $509,000 (-25 times) from Norway, 35 tons (+7 times) worth $473,000 (+7.5 times) from Ukraine, 16.4 tons (+7%) worth $344,000 (+21%) from Luxembourg, and 5.71 tons (+5 times) worth $47,000 (+11 times) from Türkiye.

Azerbaijan imported salmons from the USA (40 kg worth $1,550) after one year and four months.

Some 48.4% of the 786 tons of salmon brought to Azerbaijan from 20 countries last year were purchased from Chile, 20.9% from Norway, and 13.1% from Ukraine.
