Azerbaijan resumes import of sewing machines from US

In January-September 2024, Azerbaijan imported 34,061 sewing machines worth $7.74 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
This is 2.7 times more in value and 2.8 times in quantity compared to the same period in 2023.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 28,681 units of sewing machines (+2.7 times more than a year ago) from China for $7 million (+4 times), 3,396 units (+24 times) from Türkiye for $357,000 (+17%), 1,021 units (+82%) from Vietnam for $144,000 (+29%), 125 units (+34%) from Japan for $75,200 (-77%), and 575 units (-14%) from Thailand for $46,000 (-69%).
Azerbaijan resumed imports from the United States (5 units worth $33,000) after a 1.5-year break.
In 2023, 78% of the 20,605 sewing machines imported to Azerbaijan from 15 countries came from China.
