Azerbaijan resumes import of oranges from 3 countries

In 2023, Azerbaijan imported 19,627 tons of oranges worth $14 million.

According to Report’s calculations based on State Statistics Committee data, this is 0.3% less than the 2022 figure in value terms and 0.01% more in quantitative terms.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 13,603 tons (+17%) of oranges from Iran worth $9.5 million (17% more than a year earlier), 3,697 tons (-23%) from Türkiye worth $2.6 million (-21%), 1,000 tons from Egypt (+72%) for $877,000.

After a break of six years and eight months, Azerbaijan resumed supplies of oranges from Italy, after four years and nine months - from China, and after a break of seven years and two months - from Pakistan.

Of 19,600 tons of oranges imported to Azerbaijan (from 5 countries) in 2022, 59.5% came from Iran, 24.4% from Türkiye.
