Azerbaijan resumes electric vehicle imports from Czech Republic

In January-November 2024, Azerbaijan imported 2,871 electric vehicles, valued at $114.8 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 5% and 3.4%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported electric vehicles from:

- China: 2,228 units (-1%) worth $79.2 million (-0.3%);

- Germany: 220 units (-14%) worth $15.75 million (-31%);

- The US: 311 units (+2.4 times) worth $8.75 million (+2.2 times);

- The UK: 21 units (+3.5 times) worth $8.3 million (+7 times);

- Belgium: 15 units (-12%) worth $1 million (-10%).

Azerbaijan has resumed the import of electric vehicles from the Czech Republic (1 unit worth $19,200) after a two-year break.

In 2023, China accounted for 82.6% of the 3,102 electric vehicles imported to Azerbaijan from 14 countries.
