Azerbaijan begins importing lemons and limes from Botswana

In the first half of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 11,775 tons of lemons and limes (fresh or dried), valued at $10.2 million, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the imports decreased by 3% in volume, despite a 1.2% increase in value.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased lemons and limes from:
- Türkiye: 9,000 tons (-12%) worth $6.8 million (-11.6%);
- South Africa: 2,086 tons (+15%) worth $2.6 million (+15%);
- China: 263 tons worth $341,400 (no supply a year ago);
- Iran: 260 tons (+38%) worth $195,000 (+34 times);
- Zimbabwe: 87.5 tons worth $109,400 (no supply a year ago).
In 2025, Azerbaijan imported lemons and limes from Botswana (26.4 tons worth $33,000) for the first time in 14 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
