Astrakhan hosting Caspian Media Forum

The opening ceremony of the Caspian Media Forum was held in Russia’s Astrakhan, Report informs.

The governor of Astrakhan, who participated in the forum, welcomed the guests and participants.

In his speech, he touched upon the key role of Azerbaijan in the Great Patriotic War. He said that Azerbaijan helped the front in terms of oil supply and was distinguished by the courage of its people.

The Executive Director of the MEDIA Development Agency, Ahmed Ismayilov, representative of cultural relations of the Russian Federation with foreign countries, Aleksey Vlasov, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of Russia, Bella Cherkesova, Deputy Minister of Culture of Iran, Farshad Mehdipour, head of the political department of the Kazakh Embassy, Aljan Tursunkulov spoke at the forum.

The forum was also significant in terms of the participation of representatives of Belarus and Moldova for the first time.

The speakers emphasized the importance of developing friendly relations between countries via the media. They also noted that such events are an opportunity for journalists.
