Azerbaijan starts exporting saffron to Qatar

In January-June of this year, Azerbaijan exported 20 kg of saffron (+2 times) worth $11,200 (+5.7 times) to foreign countries, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Azerbaijan sold 10 kg (unchanged) worth $5,730 (+3 times) to an unspecified country (purchased from the Duty-Free Shop) and 10 kg worth $5,4200 to Qatar.
This year, for the first time in the last 12 years (note: publicly available official statistics on foreign trade are up to 2011), Azerbaijan resumed saffron supply to Qatar.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan bought saffron only from Iran (30 kg worth $31,840 (+26 times)).
