Azerbaijan starts buying potatoes from new market

In January-March 2023, Azerbaijan imported 60,521 tons (2% less year-on-year) of potatoes (except for seed potatoes) for $17 million (7.1% more YoY), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 16,112 tons (+248 times) of potatoes from Russia for $4.1 million (+253 times), 13,300 tons (-36%) from Iran for $3.46 million (-33% ), 7,494 tons (+47.3%) from Pakistan for $2.33 million (+52.4%), and 3,749 tons (-87%) from Türkiye for $984,000 (-86 .7%)
This year, for the first time in the last 12 years, Azerbaijan bought potatoes in Syria (25 tons for $8,000).
