Azerbaijan sharply increases frozen beef import from India

Azerbaijan imported 922.43 tons of frozen beef worth $3.5 million in January-March 2023, respectively, up 52% and 25% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

Below is the list of countries that exported frozen beef to Azerbaijan in the reporting period:

• Ukraine – 552 tons (+36%) worth $2.61 million (+35%);
• India – 252 tons (+2.3 times) worth $646,000 (+81.5%);
• Brazil – 107.4 tons (+37%) worth $148,000 (-53%);
• Jordan – 9 tons worth $66,300;
• US – 0.31 tons (-40%) worth $13,500 (+2.2%).

Ukraine and India accounted for 61.7% and 24.5%, respectively, of 3,763 tons of frozen beef imported to Azerbaijan (from 18 countries) in 2022.
